This blog will feature my year-by-year, song-by-song reviews of the Eurovision Song Contest, starting from the very first contest back in 1956 and bringing us right up to today.
My reviews take three aspects of each entry into account, which is reflected in short-hand in the reviews themselves: how much I like the (B) lyrics, (A) music and (V) performance of each song - with B, A and V standing for 'biblio', 'audio' and 'video' respectively. At the end of each review I award points, Eurovision-style, to form my top 10 favourites songs for each year. I also award a 'wooden spoon' to my least favourite song overall for a particular year.
Apart from 1956, where it might otherwise be a bit confusing, I do not include the titles of the entries, and nor will I be adding YouTube links etc - if you're interested enough to read the reviews in the first place, you probably don't need to be spoon-fed! However, I do make frequent reference to the invaluable website www.diggiloo.net, and you can always refresh your memory there if you need to.
Feel free to add your own comments after each review! I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts on each contest.
